Charity Golf Tournaments

We have donated a tremendous amount to charities with our Men’s and Ladies Golf Tournaments, which have been held 22 and 10 years respectively.  Among other charities, we support the Alberta Breast Cancer Foundation and Alberta Heart Institute.  Through the Children’s Nutritional Success Program, we provide mid-morning snacks to an elementary school.   With our help, we hope that many children will learn more effectively and grow into healthy young men and women.

Charity Tournaments are due in large part to the sponsors and suppliers who make it possible.    We wish to extend our appreciation for their ongoing support and sponsorship in 2007.

Sawmill Golf Tournaments feature TWO EVENTS

Our men’s and ladies’ tournaments feature much more than just a one day tournament on the golf course.   Both include a “Smoker” which is held two days prior to golf day.  Traditionally held in the banquet room at Tom Goodchild’s Moose Factory, this event includes a full buffet dinner with entertainment!  Golfers pick up their goodie bags and event gift, as well as have an opportunity to bid on live auction items.    Auction packages are very popular – and can be a group barbeque catered by our Sawmill Banquet  & Catering Centre, a special event coupled with dinner in one of our private dining rooms and much more!    Entertainment varies from Funny Money Casino to other lively games – all of which encourage camaraderie between teams and players.  As well, the “Smoker” is the place to purchase mulligans and raffle tickets which also benefit the charities.
